Personal Chef Testing

Students who need to complete on-line testing in association with a personal chef training program may access the test site directly (http://onlinetesting.culinarybusiness.com)

You will need to supply your USPCA member site (www.uspca.net) user name and password to enter the testing web site.

A study guide was sent via e-mail in the confirmation message for the system you purchased. The same study guide can be opened and reviewed at the testing web site. Each test will have a study guide link, however it is only necessary to open one guide.

Use caution when opening the study guide on the testing web site so as to not open and start a test by mistake.

Once a test is opened, you will have one hour to complete that test. Use caution when selecting the navigation buttons, as they are close to the “finish test” button. There is no need to take all tests on the same day or in any particular order. Passing score is 70%. Tests will be a combination of true-false, multiple choice and very short written answer.

The Tests

  • PC-101 – deals with day-to-day operations and efficiencies involved with a personal chef service.
  • PC-102 – covers safe food handling, flavor and texture retention and food related issues.
  • PC-103 – involves administration and marketing of a personal chef service.

A failed test will require a $25 retest fee. Tests submitted incomplete due to technical issues will be reset at no charge. You are required to contact the Culinary Business Academy as soon as an error takes place to document the error and provide details.

Techincal Support

The tests are designed to open and function properly with the majority of computers in their default setting mode. If you find that the pages don’t display properly or you have trouble returning to a previously viewed page, your computer settings may need to be checked. Use the techincal contact information from live support for assistance if you are having problems. You will want to be at your computer if at all possible when making this call. Be prepared to supply details of what you were doing, and what error occurred.

Test Results

Test results will be posted to the same testing web site within 10 days of completing each test. Upon completion of the final test in the series, you will be notified via e-mail, and your diploma will be issued and mailed shortly thereafter. Please allow 3 weeks for delivery. Your liability insurance coverage will go into effect upon successfully completing the final test. Documentation of this coverage will be included with your diploma. If a client requires verification of coverage prior to you receiving this package, please call 800-995-2138 and the United States Personal Chef Association (USPCA) will be able to supply verbal confirmation that coverage is in effect.
